The challenge
To cut production energy costs sustainably without tying up fixed assets, Nordöe implemented an innovative energy concept — while involving the workforce in the upside.
How we delivered it
- 01
Photovoltaic system
A PV system with 99.8 kWp output was installed on the company roof.
- 02
On-site PPA
The electricity generated is taken directly from the system via a power purchase agreement (on-site PPA).
- 03
Financing
The model involves no investment costs for Nordöe.
- 04
Battery storage
Mid-2026 an additional battery with 100 kWh was installed to raise the self-consumption rate.
- 05
Employee capital participation
Via capital participation, employees share in their employer's success — with an attractive tax benefit.
What the project achieves
- Cost reduction: electricity operating costs fall 65% per year.
- No investment risk: €0 capex for the company.
- Climate protection: 34 t CO₂e p.a. saved (90 MWh at 380 g/kWh CO₂e).
